Moosomin, Saskatchewan to Brooks, Alberta

In the last two days of the road trip, I acquainted myself with the beautiful prairies, where I'll be spending my summer.

Not even sure what town this was.  A sign said "Come walk on our swinging bridge!"
The Opera House in that same town
Specifically for my brother's sake, I took a visit to the town where Corner Gas was filmed, Rouleau, Saskatchewan.  There indeed was not a lot going on, and I drove through every street of town looking for whatever vestiges there were.  Here you go, David!

Alas, too difficult a selfie to take

On to Moose Jaw, in which I saw this moose.  And that was it for Moose Jaw.

Final night and major exploration on my trip was a detour down south to the Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan.  I camped in the silence and tall grasses among the prairie dogs and meadowlarks, and revelled in the splendor of the wide open plain.  This has been my first visit to the prairies, and I am loving the vastness of it, the limitless skies.  A perfect finale to this road trip, and perfect introduction to the summer of prairie fieldwork ahead.
