Nha Trang, Vietnam
Saturday night, we ordered take out to be delivered to the train station in Saigon and met it there by 8:00. We filled up four cabins and had a messy nail painting party with lots of M&Ms.
|
Nails obviously had to be redone the next day |
It was actually a lovely sleep and we made it to Nha Trang at 5:30, dumped our bags, and headed for the beach to catch the sunrise, full of sleepy appreciation for this perfect moment.
We had breakfast and iced coffee on the beach and woke up a little before our day on the water.
Cruising over to a fishing island, the boats were plentiful across the water. The island is home to 3000 people, and we walked around seeing the produce market, a school assembly, and the daily lives of the fishing community
|
Squid drying, later for sale all over the streets, wafting the least appealing street food scent |
We did some more snorkeling with even clearer water and many more fish.
|
Me, Liz, and Eli, loving the underwater camera |
Lunch was cooked and served on board, then we moved on to the next island while a few of us soaked up the sun on the top deck of the boat.
|
Some relaxation time |
|
A parasailer, one of the many activities on the beach |
It was Jareth's birthday, so we arranged to pick up a huge cake to have at the restaurant that evening. Some celebratory drinks were had and dancing ensued in this beach town.
Today I'll check out a temple nearby with Karen, then this evening we take the night train to Hoi An.
Loving all the pictures, it looks amazing!!!
