Geckos and fellow travellers

Perhaps I should briefly introduce the gang of accents I've been travelling with the past few weeks.  We've bonded quite wonderfully, and there is always a different combination of people to hang out with.

Kerianne and Liz, 24, physiotherapists from New Zealand. Travelling to Hanoi, then flying to Europe for another few weeks of adventure, then looking for jobs in England.  Liz brought the heaps of nail polish, a fantastic friend-making tip filed for future reference.

Cassie, Grace, and Jareth, 19, friends from Darwin, Australia.  Travelling through Laos as well after Vietnam.  Cassie works in after school childcare, Grace in a library, and Jareth in a grocery store.  Jareth is hilariously uncoordinated and provides amusement for the group.

Kate and Gemma, 23 and 25, pharmacist and physiotherapist, sisters from Perth, Australia.  Continuing on to Europe after Hanoi, visiting family in Ireland.  Kate's hoping to get a job in Canada after that.

Eli, 20, from England.  She travelled through Thailand, joining the group in Bangkok through to Ho Chi Minh, and we roomed together.  We are very sad she left us to go to Australia for her sister's wedding!

Matt, 18, from England, hilariously British, "lol"s at my accent attempts.  Taking a gap year before starting university, going through Laos, then on to another 40 days in India, and 40 in Africa.  He may not make it out in one piece, the kid is falling apart over here, which is another source of amusement for the rest of us.

Karl, 24, from England.  He left us in Ho Chi Minh, as he was only taking a short vacation from work in something finance related.  Pictured here getting his back threaded by Cambodian ladies on the beach, yet another group amusement.

Karen, 28, nurse from Adelaide, Australia.  Celebrated her 30th country in Cambodia, 32 by the time she finishes in Laos.  Moving to Qatar to do some nursing for a while, previously lived in Saudi Arabia for a year, taking the opportunity to travel the Middle East.

Rosie, 20, from England.  Also going through to Laos.  Has a Go Pro and takes some opportune shots, and puts on a strong south England accent.

James, 20, from Perth, Australia.  Sells maps.  A bit of a question mark in our group, but seems like a spiritual soul and loves to dance.  Ordered green corduroy pants at the tailor in Hoi An.

New joiners in Ho Chi Minh, Louisa, Beka, and Peter, 26, 25, 27, all from New Zealand.  Peter and Beka have been married four years, and are continuing on to Nepal, then Europe.  They are both teachers and just got jobs in England for next school year.  Louisa works for a nonprofit rescuing beached whales.  Pictured here on their Vietnam TV debut being interviewed about travelling in Nha Trang.  Other new joiner, unpictured, is Lachlan, 23, from Melbourne, Australia.  Works in sales for a trucking company.  Going with the group to Hanoi, then visiting Hong Kong before returning to work.

It's a great bunch of people, and I'll be blue splitting up in Hanoi!
